West Virginia family returns home to a nightmare – beloved Lab Duke found dead, and the Sheriff is asking for help
Maher, West Virginia – The Mingo County Sheriff’s Office is asking for public assistance after what the agency calls a heinous act of animal cruelty.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a family returned home to find their beloved pet deceased on their property in the Maher area. The Sheriff’s Office says it is investigating the case as animal cruelty.
Family has identified the dog as Duke, a white Labrador retriever who was known for being gentle and loving. Family members have also shared additional details publicly about what they believe happened. Those additional details are not in the Sheriff’s Office public statement and are part of the ongoing investigation.
