Blair, Nebraska — Many of you reached out after a Facebook video posted by Jenny Erickson, president of the board at the Jeanette Hunt – Blair Animal Shelter. In that video, Erickson made allegations about Kris Rotonda of Jordan’s Way, including claims of verbally abusive and intimidating behavior toward staff and volunteers, a lack of professionalism, and a focus she says appeared to be more on money than mission. The video in question is Ring camera footage from inside the shelter. These are allegations, not findings, but they’ve sparked some serious allegations and conversation about accountability and respect in animal welfare work 
For transparency: I emailed Jordan’s Way late this morning and heard back right away. I’m currently on a plane, so I wasn’t able to speak directly with Kris, but he did provide an initial email statement. He said: “This has been really hard on me and my family. I spent 7 years on the road visiting 2,000 shelters and raising close to $15 million for them to lose it. This video is highly edited to someone else’s advantage, and what happened prior was never discussed.”
Kris and I have a Zoom interview set up when I land. I’m also working on a Zoom interview with Jenny Erickson, as well.
I want to ask my own questions. I want to hear both sides. As we always said in television news, there’s always at least 2 sides to every story.
