Des Moines, Iowa – The puppy who couldn’t stand, now standing on the table as Governor Kim Reynolds signs EMBER’S LAW.
From fractures and emergency surgery to this moment. From shaking in pain to safe, loved, HOME with her foster family who adopted her.
On May 11, Ember sat beside Governor Kim Reynolds as House File 2348 – EMBER’S LAW – was signed. Effective July 1, intentional torture of an animal is now a Class D felony on FIRST offense in Iowa.
Her own case was before the new law. Court records show the suspect pleaded guilty to animal abuse.
Ember survived. Her story changed the law for every animal after her.
