Back in January 2024, a man walked into the Shelter of Death and found:
❌ Lifeless dogs
❌ Starving survivors
❌ UNOPENED bags of food
The cover-up? A cast of cowards:
⚫ DA Jody Gilliam – recused herself too little, too late
⚫ Chief James Hommel – caught cleaning the crime scene
⚫ Mayor Susan Byrd – missing in action
⚫ Sheriff Joe Lopez – promised everything, delivered nothing
⚫ DA Coty Siegert – reportedly said “nothing wrong here”
💥 Three indicted. No convictions. No accountability. No justice.
The Marlin Animal Shelter remains closed. But the stench of what happened there? Still lingers.
