“It’s Nonsensical. It’s Diabolical. She’s a Monster.” A Witness Watched It Happen.

Brookhaven, Georgia – A witness driving behind another car on Wednesday afternoon watched in disbelief as three tiny kittens were thrown out of the moving vehicle’s window one by one. She followed the driver, took a picture of the license plate at a red light, and called police. What she saw was real. And one of those kittens did not survive.

Brookhaven Police responded around 2:30 p.m. on August 5th, 2026, to the area after reports of a driver discarding kittens from a moving vehicle. Officers searching the area found one kitten dead in the road. A second kitten was recovered alive but was found to be heavily traumatized, with a dislocated tail. A vet treated the animal, and a friend of the witness who reported the incident took the kitten in to care for him. He is only eight weeks old.

A third kitten has not yet been found. Search efforts are actively underway near Brookhaven Park.

Investigators identified the vehicle and located the driver, 25-year-old Valentina Tobon Henao, at a nearby business shortly afterwards. The witness identified her during a police drive-by. Henao was taken into custody and charged with felony animal cruelty. Jail records show she has since been released on bond while awaiting her court appearance.

The witness who followed her and called police, Maria Stewart, described what she saw in words that say everything: “It’s nonsensical. It’s diabolical. I just think this person’s a monster to have done that. They were tiny little kittens being thrown out of a car.”

One kitten is gone. One is recovering from trauma at eight weeks old. One is still out there somewhere. The community is searching. And the person accused of throwing them is already out on bond.
