One Hound Reportedly Looked Up At Him Moments Before He Pulled The Trigger
Carmarthenshire, Wales – For us animal advocates, this is the side of hunting the public rarely sees. That means what we have seen already isn’t the worst of it.
According to the Hunt Saboteurs Association, undercover footage from 2021 allegedly shows Carmarthenshire Hunt huntsman Will Pinkney shooting nine foxhounds in just 40 minutes after they were deemed no longer useful.
The detail that has haunted many people is this: HSA says one hound reportedly looked up at Pinkney moments before being shot in the head. The remaining pack could allegedly be heard howling as the bodies were thrown into bins.
Ecotricity says its undercover investigation found hounds considered unsuitable for hunting were routinely killed and discarded. The footage was later provided to police.
Supporters of hunting argue hounds are well cared for. Critics say they are bred for a purpose and destroyed when they are no longer needed.
Hounds are dogs. They feel fear. They hear the pack. They look up at the person holding the gun.
