Beloved Family Dog Allegedly Butchered In Bloody Bedroom Betrayal
Grant Parish, Louisiana – The family of the dog and sister reached out to me and we’ve worked on this for quite some time. Here’s what we know from the family.
They tell me their 9-year-old family dog was brutally stabbed to death on Mother’s Day night inside a home in Montgomery, and they are demanding answers after claiming the suspect still had not been arrested.
According to the family, the dog was asleep in bed beside their loved one at the home of Billy Brewster when Brewster allegedly came into the room yelling and suddenly attacked the dog with a knife. The family says the dog was stabbed more than 8 times and died from those wounds.
The family also claims Brewster stabbed himself in the leg afterward and went to the hospital. They say authorities issued a warrant for aggravated cruelty to animals, but that he still had not been taken into custody as of their public post.
What makes this even more disturbing is that the family says there was already a written statement from the night of the incident claiming Brewster had left another house with a knife and said he was allegedly going to stab someone.
As for the pup, the family says their dog trusted him.
“He slept in the same bed as Billy and my sister only to be killed by someone he thought loved him,” they said.
According to the family, the scene inside the home was horrific. They say blood covered the house as their loved one desperately tried to save the dying dog after escaping through another door because Brewster allegedly blocked the nearest exit.
“She had to carry the dog across the street and sit in a neighbor’s yard screaming while holding her dying dog,” the family said.
The family also claims deputies photographed whiskey bottles, tire tracks in the driveway, the stab wounds, and the bloody scene inside the home.
Local news reportedly contacted the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office and was told Brewster was still hospitalized and would be arrested after release.
However, the family says he was released, appeared in Grant Parish Court on another matter, and that authorities, probation officials, and local officials were informed of his location.
Louisiana law defines aggravated cruelty to animals to include acts that torture, maim, mutilate, or cause unjustifiable suffering or death to an animal. Public legal summaries list possible penalties for aggravated cruelty as a $5,000 to $25,000 fine, imprisonment for 1 to 10 years, or both.
