Animal Advocate Faces Intimidation After Exposing Shelter Abuse and Kay Needs Us in Court! ![]()
Clayton County, Georgia – Animal advocate Kay M Burly is an animal advocate and she is known for keeping tabs on what is happening at Clayton County Georgia Animal Control. She has told me she’s worked their in the past and that’s why she makes as many public record requests as possible to view the surveillance footage from this shelter and call out what is happening, what is not happening, and what should be happening.
Now Kay is being sued by an employee of Clayton County Animal Control after Kay shared video that I’m told she received through public records request. In that video, the employee can reportedly be seen mishandling a dog the shelter reportedly claimed was undergoing rabies testing and without gloves.
Kay also shared a separate video reportedly showing the same employee bringing family into the shelter to bathe personal dogs. Kay reportedly did not name or identify any family member except to say that a family member was there at the time.
With that said, the employee reportedly claims Kay made threats, even threats that the employee claims was made to her child. Those comments, we’re told, have “allegedly” been taken out of context.
We’re told since word got out the employee was suing Kay, now Kay is experiencing intimidation, including people she doesn’t know coming to her house any time day or night, strange vehicles pulling up in her driveway, and other people reportedly driving by really slow and watching her house.
This “appears” to have become more than just a lawsuit against a local animal advocate who consistently demands shelter transparency. It appears, from all accounts, that it’s fear-based pressure and the question, is anyone but Kay taking this seriously?
Kay will appear in court next week and if what she’s experiencing now is any indication of what could happen next, Kay should NOT walk into that courthouse by herself.
With that said, we need support for Kay:
1. Character Witness Statements
If you know Kay, have worked with her, or can speak to her integrity, please write a statement on her behalf. This can make a real impact in court.
2. Showing Up To Court In Numbers
We need people willing to show up in person and sit in that courtroom with her. Presence matters. Standing beside someone being targeted matters.
Kay spoke up using public information. Now she is being forced to defend herself for it.
Please message @mandiimanarite if you will:
– Write a statement
– Attend court
– Or help support in any way
No one should face intimidation and legal pressure alone for speaking out.
Stand with Kay.
