Hilo, Hawaii – Kilauea volcano – Kawika Singson climbed down nearly 25 feet into a live volcanic fissure to rescue a dog named Malka who had been trapped there for two terrifying days. Using the dog’s GPS tracker to pinpoint her location, he carefully descended into the earth in the Kilauea volcano and brought her back to safety. 
Malka had fallen deep below the surface and couldn’t get out on her own. Thanks to courage and quick thinking, she survived.
