Tulsa, Oklahoma — He claimed he was moving to a place where he could only have one dog. That’s what Tusla police say Peter Petrov told them after they say he shot and killed three dogs at his home. Officers responding with animal control report Petrov admitted to the shootings and turned over one dog, while two more were found dead in the backyard. Police also say they recovered a gun at the scene.

Inside the home, police found two more dogs alive and were rescued by animal control.
Petrov was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on three counts of cruelty to animals. Police say he claimed he was moving to a place that allowed only one dog. Those surviving dogs are now safe.
