•
Buck, his black Labrador — found alive, still beside John John’s body
•
Discovered about two miles from the home where John John was last seen
•
Search involved hundreds of volunteers and multiple agencies over difficult terrain and weather
At this point, Sheriff says John John’s father, Jameson Kyle Boley, has been charged with unlawful manufacturing of a destructive device and two counts of chemical endangerment of a child. Smith said the charges are not related to his son’s disappearance.
Sheriff Nick Smith said John John was an adventurous child who loved the outdoors. Investigators confirmed Buck stayed with him until the end.
Buck is safe and not in the custody of Walker County Animal Services or the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, according to officials.
This is a devastating loss for a family and a community.
